Property Market Slow Down Means Time to Diversify!

Written on the 10th of February 2009

I believe there are lots of businesses out there that will benefit from diversification in order to keep growing in the face of doom and gloom analysis all over the world.

When my sister and I started our business PPP (Property Presentation Professionals) in 2006, we created a niche by offering a makeover service to help clients maximise their propertys sale value. Our business grew steadily until the end of 2008 when the property market started to slow down. The last thing we want is for the property market to spoil our momentum!

We are determined not to let talk of the "global financial crisis" dent our confidence. It is time to diversify! With over 100 makeovers under our belt, we decided it was time we offered our service to all homeowners, not just those who are selling or leasing their property!

When economic times are uncertain, many people decide to stay put instead of selling their property. And so we decided to target homeowners who wanted to make their property more comfortable and attractive for their family. We provide everything from a cosmetic makeover to a complete renovation. We have a builder on board and all our trades people are thrilled that we are still giving them plenty of work.

We also branched out by marketing our makeover services to strata buildings, which need to be maintained in all market conditions. Our professional project management skills and expertise in property presentation suited this kind of project perfectly and we have already had great success marketing to this segment.

No matter how much bad news is thrown at us, we are determined to grow our business in 2009. We have done more marketing and promotion in the last two months than we have ever done before. And when the property market improves, we will still be here, stronger and better than ever!
