An Aussie's opinion on doomsayers - 'we choose not to participate!'

Does anyone know one of the major causes of recession?

Recession is a self-fulfilling prophecy.  In other words if enough people believe the sensationalist 'doomsday' news headlines, they will begin to respond.

The reason?  They begin to believe the constant barrage of negative mis-information such as: "we have never experienced anything like this before"; "this is the worst financial cricis in history"; "the housing bubble is about to burst and we are about to witness a 40 percent drop in values".  Ask any journalist and they'll tell you that bad news has a much higher 'sell-through rate' than good news.

Oh please, give us a break!   We have come through two world wars, a depression, numerous recessions, the gulf war, the 'tech-wreck' AND 9/11.  Thoughts produce Actions which in turn produce Results so if enough people believe the doomsayers, it's likely a recession will occur.

So let's choose not to participate.  We have come through all that history has thrown at us so far AND we will come through this also.  Let's 'get on with getting on' and shape our own future.  We are capable of just about anything, however we must first believe it.
