Amazing growth for small home painting business

Written on the 7th of March 2009 by James T

Hi Tracey, just stumbled accros your website...absolutley brilliant. This is what the media should be reporting FIRST with the negitive and bad news stories near the end.

I have a small home painting business in Brisbane and Gold Coast and we haven't had to advertise for months. We experienced the "growth" years from about 2004 through 2006/7 and while this period was really good, what we're experiencing now is simply amazing. For the first time in our 20 years in the industry we have had the most profitable quarter ever!!! And showing no signs of letting up. Just landed a huge contract this week that will take us about 4 months to complete and worth around $130 000...

Resession? what ressession? We're sruggling to have time to relax! And its not just us, nearly every business person we speak to including fellow tradies are extreemly busy also

Every thing has a cycle; the economies of the world, the weather, the seasons, a marriage, freindships etc... and every now and then there is an "adjustment" up or down. In the case of a "down" adjustment in an economy it is a time for business to "clean out" the bludgers! In other words the people that are most likely to lose their jobs are the ones that don't contribute as well as others, or the ones who whinge and whine all the time and expect the world to support them regardless of their attitude or contribution. And in the big scheme of things it's not really a ressesion at all, it's just a credit squeeze bought about by big finance companies getting too greedy and offering high risk loans to all kinds of people who never had the means to pay their debts in the first place. The media report a "bare" market, a falling stock market and job losses, does the average person even relate to a "falling stock market"? So long as they are putting in 100% at work, are they really going to lose their jobs? I doubt it.

The oportunities that are available now are plentifull in all industries, prices for houses, cars, electrical goods are at all time lows, even petrol prices have come back to where they should be....

Man, if people would just start turning off the telly when they report doom and gloom and stop whining about how bad they THINK it is and just go about their business keeping their own economy in shape, the world will be full of beauty.

Good On Ya Tracey, keep up the good work! I'm going to sign up for your regular good news emails now and I'll be reading this everyday and not watching the damn news!

Regards James T
